The Parthenon

    We have arrived in Piraeus and this is the gateway arch near the temple of Zeus 

    This is the temple of Zeus 

   In the distance throughou the arch you can see the Parthenon 

    Right up the top is the Parthenon 

   We have started our walk up the hill to the Parthenon 

   Beautiful windy, steep little streets

   After a hot climb throught the streets, we have reached the bottom where you can start your climb to the top!

   A rough trek ahead, are just pass the theatre of Dionysos

   So many steps, and we have a long way to get to the top, this is the view from lower level

   Still climbing, looking into the amphitheatre 

    We are nearly there.

   We are finally up the top, amazing!

   Look how high we are, that is villages in the distance.

   The ruins are magnificent.

   After our climb up and down again, we catch the bus and return to the city where we catch this little train back to the dock to get back on the ship.
